Opposing the Moral Will of God

Opposing God’s will and our efforts to live it out

Ephesians 5:15–21

Samson and Delilah: Judges

Not abiding in the Lord, having clear and present sin in their lives presuming they know God’s Will. Even when living in sin, God will still bless me.

Why might we oppose God’s will and accomplish our own will?

Lack of faith for him to do it

Lack of faith in God’s timing

Lack of comprehension of the Bible

Believing I make better choices for my life than God

What will likely be the result of our efforts?

Luke warm faith

Not seeing God’s movement

Not feeling the presence of God

Falling out of unity with God and his church

Conflict and Strife

Brokenness and hurt
