Conflict: Abiding in Poor Governance

What does this look like on the micro level in a society that has a free vote?

Christians line up with the values of the society that they are living in. They don’t search the scriptures, but instead accept their political or philosophical position that lines up best with them in society.

If we are foreigners on this planet, then we should live as foreigners. We should do the best we can to obey the laws of the land, but our focus is representing our citizenship, Heaven.

As we get closer to Jesus, we become more like him, then we respond as he did.

When we find things that are clearly against God’s Moral will we should stand against it, but we should also be prepared to accept the consequences. The apostles showed this as they were told they could not speak about Jesus, they chose to continue that and ended up in prison.

Do we have the faith in God to carry us through the consequences, or is my faith not strong enough in the Lord that I need to depend on the Lord?

How could abiding affect the change vs mass protests, rioting, or revolution? Will the poles ever bisect?

Abiding will bring us to a place where our love shows the world we are God’s disciples. This can keep us from getting involved in the affairs around us.
